Clenbuterol is one of the most effective fat burners in the world. Period.
Anyone who says otherwise has either never used it or is just peddling half-baked information based on what they’ve read on the internet.
It is a stimulant, much like ephedrine, only it is a lot more potent.
It has a long half-life and it increases your basal metabolism thereby burning more fat than you would otherwise.
But it is banned for OTC sales in the United States. In fact, it is not even used in therapeutic settings and its milder sibling Albuterol is usually favored over Clen.
Nevertheless, that never stopped bodybuilders and athletes from using Clenbuterol.
In fact, we could bet our lives on it that almost every competitive bodybuilder’s steroid cycle will have Clenbuterol added to it, particularly during the last few weeks.
That’s because it absolutely torches the last bit of stubborn fat that clings on to your body.
We can talk about the positives of Clenbuterol all day. But it must also be said that it is not a drug for everyone.
If you use it carelessly, it can cause some serious damage to your system.
Here’s a brief guide to Clenbuterol for newbies.
Clenbuterol is an asthmatic drug that works by widening the airways, which allows a person to breathe easier during an asthma attack.
Much before it was used as an asthmatic drug, it was used for increasing lean muscle in cattle. Surprise!
Clen did it way before it went mainstream with Tren!
But it was discovered that Clenbuterol’s metabolites caused food poisoning rendering the drug almost ineffective. So, it was banned for use in feed animals.
However, it is still used for therapeutic applications, mostly for the short term treatment of asthma in many countries including the UK and Australia.
Using Clenbuterol to lose weight
Clenbuterol’s popularity has risen manifold in recent times as rank newbies switch to quick fixes to build muscle and lose weight.
But Clen is not something that you’d want to experiment with unless you have your diet dialed down and your body fat percentage below 15% at least.
That’s when it is most effective.
When you are working out, when you are in a calorific deficit and when you are below 15% body fat.
If you are sitting on a couch all day and guzzling on candy and soda and you start taking Clenbuterol hoping to lose weight, then the only thing that you’ll get out of it is serious side effects.
Start with the lowest possible dose of 20mcg and continue using it for three to four days until you build a tolerance to that dose and then bump it up by 20mcg.
By week three or four, you should be dosing at 100-120mcg, which is the maximum dose that you should use.
Do not run Clenbuterol for more than 4-5 weeks. Cycle it off for 5-6 weeks and then restart the cycle for best results.
Clenbuterol Side Effects
Time and again we’ve seen people hop on to drugs and steroids hoping to cut corners and get quick results.
They seem to have a flawed logic that convinces themselves and others that no matter how severe the side effects seem; it won’t happen to them.
That’s where they go wrong though.
Clen’s side effects are guaranteed. Some of them are manageable. Others aren’t.
You are fine to continue using it as far as you can manage the sides. Once it starts to get bothersome and affect your life, discontinue it immediately.
Clenbuterol is a beta-adrenergic agonist which works on the beta adrenoceptors to increase the contraction of the muscles in the airways. However, this also leads to a depletion in potassium levels which in turn depletes taurine, an electrolyte that is cardio protective. This leads to an electrolyte imbalance in the body which can cause mild to severe muscle cramps.
Clenbuterol will cause mild to severe tremors which are called essential tremors or unexplained tremors. In bodybuilding circles, this is called Clen Jitters and it is often joked that unless you get jitters, your Clen is probably bunk. Mild tremors are usually harmless and cease when you stop using Clen.Severe tremors on the other hand can affect your life.
One of the conditions that is related to Clenbuterol use is tachycardia, in which your heart begins to beat rapidly more than 100 times per minute. It is a very serious and a very scary condition. Many users experience mild episodes of Tachycardia and completely stop using Clen.
Although rare, Clenbuterol has also been linked to Myocardial ischemia, a potentially fatal condition that can cause a heart attack.
Clenbuterol can also stimulate an excessive production of the thyroid hormone by the thyroid gland. This is usually linked with prolonged or long term Clenbuterol usage.
Maxmizing results with Clen and minimizing side effects
It’s given than everybody would like to minimize the risk of side effects while maximizing results while using Clenbuterol.
Unfortunately, there’s no one size fits all. People react differently to drugs. And Clen is no different.
There are some methods that you can employ. But it will take some trial and error to narrow down on the exact one that may work for you.
The 2-weeks protocol:
One of the protocols used by bodybuilders is to use Clenbuterol for two weeks followed by two weeks off. This prevents tolerance from building up and is also known to be effective in preventing side effects. Some users report that they feel lethargic during the off-period which makes it very difficult to adjust to the effects.
Titrating the dose:
More commonly, bodybuilders start with a low dose and then continue using Clenbuterol at that dose for two to three weeks, after which they increase the dose by 20mcg and then continue for another two to three weeks. This keeps the levels of the drug constant in the system and the metabolism is revved up continually. The only possible downside is that by the time you reach the maximum dose, you’d have used Clen for 15-18 weeks which is way more than what’s recommended.
For contest prep:
Last but not the least, use Clenbuterol as a pre-contest prep drug. This is our favorite way of using Clen. Nor does the dosage exceed 80mcg ever, we also use the drug for short durations only.
We recommend that you start off with minimal doses in short term cycles and then switch to the 2-weeks protocol.
Once you have used the drug a few times, you can try titrating the dose and find the maximum tolerable dose for your body.
